Privacy Policy

Yang Daily is a property news site published from Singapore. This page explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it.

Last updated: 11 October 2026

Who we are

This site, yangdaily.com (“Yang Daily”, “we”, “us”), is an independent real estate news aggregator. We are the data controller for the personal data described below. For any privacy question or request, contact ernestyeo@hotmail.com — this address also acts as our point of contact for data protection matters.

What we collect

We keep data collection to a minimum. In practice this means:

  • Comments. If you leave a comment, we store the name, email address, optional website URL, IP address and browser user-agent string you provide, together with the content of your comment. The IP address and user agent are used to detect spam.
  • Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message.
  • Server logs. Our hosting infrastructure records standard access information such as IP address, requested URL, referring page, timestamp and browser type. These logs exist for security and reliability and are held by our hosting provider.
  • Site analytics. This site does not currently run any third-party analytics, advertising or social-media tracking scripts, and we do not build advertising profiles of visitors.

We do not ask for and do not want sensitive personal data (for example financial details, identity document numbers or health information). Please do not send such information to us through comments or email.

Cookies

WordPress, the software this site runs on, sets a small number of functional cookies:

  • If you leave a comment you may opt in to storing your name, email address and website in a cookie, so you do not have to retype them next time. These cookies last for one year.
  • A temporary cookie is set when you visit the comment area to check whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
  • If you log in to the site (for example as an editor), cookies are set to keep you signed in and to record your display preferences.

There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work for reading.

Embedded content and external links

Our articles link out to, and may occasionally embed, material published by other websites — for example news articles, videos or social posts. Content embedded from another site behaves exactly as if you had visited that site: it may set its own cookies, and it is governed by that site’s privacy policy, not ours. Reading Yang Daily itself never requires you to accept third-party content.

Who we share data with

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not share it for marketing. Data is accessible only to:

  • Our hosting provider, which stores the site database, files and server logs on our behalf.
  • Our email provider, which transmits and stores messages sent to our contact address.
  • Spam-filtering services, if and when comment spam protection is enabled — comment content and metadata may be checked against such a service for the sole purpose of detecting spam.
  • Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information.

How long we keep data

  • Approved comments and their metadata are kept for as long as the article remains published, so the discussion stays intact.
  • Comments held in the moderation queue are kept for a limited period for spam review, then deleted.
  • Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for our records.
  • Server logs are retained according to our hosting provider’s standard retention period.

Your rights

If you are in Singapore, the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) gives you the right to ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to withdraw consent for its use. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you additionally have the right to erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email ernestyeo@hotmail.com with enough detail for us to identify the data in question — for example the email address you used when commenting. We will respond within a reasonable period and will tell you if we cannot act on a request and why.

Children

Yang Daily is a general news site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and access to the administration area is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we keep the amount of personal data we hold deliberately small in order to limit the risk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site develops — for example if analytics or newsletter tools are added. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version, and material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
